Blog #3: Things I've Learned

In the past week I have learned how to make a stop motion animation come to life. We used ipads to create a still life video that plays back as an animation. I've always been so fascinated by stop motion animation videos and I think that they are so cool! However, they do indeed take a lot of time and effort in order to make them run smoothly and with ease. I look forward to making our animation and I will continue to have a fascination with projects of the like! :)

Blog #2: Interesting Artwork

This piece of artwork is kind of a mind teaser because at first you notice a man who lives close to the city lights, but as you continue to study the picture. you find that the man has cut out the city skyscrapers from his curtains. I'm not really sure what the real meaning of this picture is, but my depiction of is is that maybe this boy used to live in the city and love it there until he was forced to move out of town to where there's nothing but trees and nature, so he decided to carve out his curtains. I think this piece is interesting because it tricks the eyes and makes you think that there is actually a city there, but there's not. I've always been a fan of optical illusions!

Blog #1: About Me.

I am a student from New Hampton High School. I live North of New Hampton near a very small town called Jerico, Iowa. In my free time I like to explore the technology of the internet and spend time with my friends and family. Some days I spend my time listening to music and drawing. I like listening to all kinds of music, however, country and pop are the genres I listen to the most. Something interesting about myself is that I absolutely love to travel and see new places. I hope that when I get older I can visit all of the 7 continents and visit many countries as well.
In my Digital art class, I hope to learn new techniques and advance in my art skills. To me, art is a way to express your individualism and ideas through a form of art media that you feel you advance at.
